“The Deadly Newt” is produced by Kate Doak, who is a young investigative journalist, photographer, content producer and researcher from the Inner West of Sydney and formerly the New England region of New South Wales.

Kate frequently covers stories involving the Independent Commission Against Corruption, Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, New South Wales and Australian politics, as well as LGBTI issues, sport and current affairs. Her work has appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald, Crikey, The Saturday Paper, The Guardian, The Big Issue, SBS World News Australia, ABC NewsRadio (U.S.), Good Morning America (ABC – U.S.) and ABC News (Australia), amongst others.

Kate’s weakness for chocolate and coffee means that you can often find her working off the extra calories either at the gym, or in a fitness class at a trampoline park.
